The Misadventures of the Late Mz. R.E.

hand in hand

She was a shithead of epic proportions, this was fact. She was also incredibly clever for her young age. Bambam had a built in bullshit meter and it was always on. Even though she was still in elementary and prone to her own flights of fuckery, she had so little tolerance for anyone else’s.

Even her best friend Angel. They wer barely double digits and Bambam had it up to the top to her stature. She hung out with her because they knew everything about wach other she did like her. She also knew that everyone needed that one friend that was a reminder that “IT COULD BE WORSE, YOU COULD BE THEM”

Angel was fast turning into hers.

On this particular Saturday afternoon, Bambam had slept over and she was so goddamn done listening to Angel talk and boss her around. They were out front of Angel’s house, using chalk on the sidewalk.

“No! you have to do it like….” Angel ordered in that condescending tone

Bambam will never know exactly how she was aupposed to do that because she had picked up a rock and as she was walking towards, Angel she “tripped” and fell rock first onto Ange’s hand. Ange screamed in pain and Bambam heard her finger snap under the rock.

Bambam already a great actress, ran inside to get Angel’s nana. So apologetic she was. So mahy “I am sorry”‘s came out of her mouth. Not once was she doubted. Angel and her Nana laughed at Bambam’s clumsiness as they shared the account of the accident.

Bambam briefly met her mothers eyes. Bambam couldn’t fool them all. Her mom chuckled and said goodbye to Fubsy and Angel.

“you did that on purpose didn’t you?” her mom’s voice was stern.

Bambam looked up to see her mother smirking. Quietly she responded “Yes.” She peeked at her mom.

Her eyes lit up “Good! That kid is getting on my last nerve. Somone needs to beat her a little.” She laughed. “Kidding, but her eyes said different. Bam smiled back at her mother and her mother hugged as laughed more. “I won’t tell as long you as you can keep it a secret”

Bambam nodded slightly confused and relieved at the same time.

Did her mother just say that?

What a confusing and funny day that was in the journey that is the Tale of Bambam The Brave
