The Misadventures of the Late Mz. R.E.

Little Hell

She was a determined little hellion. When the Catastrophe that was Bambam made up her mind, it was made up and no force on this Earth could stop her. Except one.

Her mother, the Chaos that was Bella. She was the only force in this universe that could get in the way of Bambam. Even then, they both would have to admit that they gave each other a run for their money.

Bambam’s unhinged audaciousness was the only thing that over rode her fear of her mother. For Bella, it was the need to be ready to act on whatever ultimatum she delivered. Bambam was not her brothers. Only follow through would get the message through.

Most of the time.

Most of the time, Bambam was hoping her mother didn’t murder her as she blatantly disregarded what she said.

Most of the time, Bella was hoping she didn’t have to murder her daughter for blatantly disregarding what she said.

Both of them, holding their best poker faces and hoping to God the other couldn’t tell.

It was the stupidest war that they would wage and neither one would know for years.

This battle Bambam had been on a 3-day streak of not cleaning her room. It wasn’t hard, she just didn’t want to. And it would piss off her mom.

Oh boy did it work like a charm. Bella burst into her room and gave her the scolding of a lifetime, the rarity of these made it sting all the much more.

Bambam was furious. When her mother left, she dug out the cell phone her mother had given her and dialled 911. As she began to describe the abuse her mother was inflicting on her, Bella burst through the door and grabbed the phone while whispering profanities through a clenched jaw.

Fuck, Bambam loathed that woman’s sonic ears for bullshit. She listened as her mother used her charm and honey words to talk the operator down and convince her Bambam was full of shit. Bambam knew when she was done. SHe hustled back to her room and blocked the door. She began to hustle out her window.

REALLY?!” There was her mother outside looking at her ass end hanging out her window. They stared at each other for second. “kay” was all her mother said and walked away.

Her mother burst into her room and pushed her the rest of the way out of the window. Then she heard it.

Doors locking. Things moving, She didn’t have to see to know. Her mother had made it so the only way she could get back in the house was through the front door.

Absolutely not. She stormed across the street and sat in front of a tree for shade and because she could see her mother through the livingroom window.

Bella was looking at her dead in the eye. Bambam returned it with a glare.

They stared at each other off and on all day and evening. Bella left the front door open. Bambam pretended her mother didn’t exist.

Until it got cold.

She didn’t have a coat and her mother wasn’t looking at her at this moment.

Now or never.

Bambam darted into the house and went to her room and slammed the door. She heard the front door close quietly and the tv start back up.

Bambam fell asleep satisfied enough.

Bella sat in the livingroom with a smirk. The “not look” look worked every time on that shithead.

Believe it or not, this would be one of the last easy fights in the Tale of Bambam the Brave
