Bella supposed that she should be thankful Linus wasn’t bumping up her moving date. And she could have said that she was a little relieved. She could also list the reasons that they were no longer together.

She believed that one day when the haze had cleared completely Linus would see that, that mood of his was just one of the many stages of grief. Which one can experience from an extreme loss of any kind. She had felt it too. Only Bella had no power like he had, to act on it the way he did. Linus thought that he didn’t do anything wrong.

But he had.

When Bella and Linus were together, when she had wanted them to be together, there had been no one else. She didn’t contact other men or go out with anyone else.

As for the accusation of Bella giving up when Linus needed her the most, where the fuck had he been for 7 months?

While he was gone in his self searching mission, Bella had been supporting him, defending him. She continued to do this up until a little while ago when his sadness started to turn into scary clingyness. That is when she realized that no matter what she said, Linus only heard what he wanted to hear.

This behaviour didn’t just worry her and their friends, it creeped them out. It also continued to push her away. His actions were not only innappropriate, but unwelcome. Like before, any sign of rejection and he would become become bitter and condescending. He didn’t listen to Bella’s wishes to start fresh.

Instead Linuis just piled on the crap and said and DID things that made him worse, not better. Which meant for Bella, she in turn got the mean and condescending Linus instead of the sad, mopey one. She would have endure what he threw at her for another couple weeks before she could be truly gone.

Mostly though, the reason they were not together was because of the way her loved ones looked at him before the summer had started. The way Nose and everyone else walked around with an edginess because they were always worrying that they would do something that would incite the next long winded lecture from you.

Because when you were in those long, busy months of depression thinking of only yourself, they all saw it. They all felt it.

Because they all had at some point during this time had to deal with the sad realization that you didn’t give a fuck about them. It had turned into a cycle in those months and Bella had to see her own misery mirrored in her friends faces as Linus took his shit out on them as well.

Thats how Bella knew, they would never be together again. Ever

But that was ok right? Because Linus was just coping.

Maybe one day she would forgive him.

For her to do that, she would sever, for the first time of her volition, another string in the disentanglemt of Bella and Linus.
