What if this was it? What if this was going to be her purpose, her life? Everything leading up to this had been terrible, whether it being her doing or someone else’s. Bella was always at the mercy of some malevolent force it would seem. Perhaps she was meant to be the universe’s punchline. As long as she was drowning, everyone else could be okay.

Fuck my life, that sounded like complete bullshit. It was a nice a tale to weave to make herself feel better about the situation. The reality of it was that, some people weren’t meant to have an easy time or nice things, in whatever that meant to them. And Bella? Well, she was one of those people.

It was a hard pill to swallow, being the ole punchline for the universe. But at least she was used to it by now.
